LED Christmas Lights

First off, no, it is not too early to start talking about Christmas. Second, I live in an eco friendly dorm at USC. It is named “Green Quad” and has actually been mentioned in the national media before. Here we have solar panels on our roofs, we have extensions on our windows to keep the sun from driving up our AC bill, we have a large recycling center, there is a common area in the middle for people to grow their own plants, and there is talk of creating a compost pile. What does this have to do with LED Christmas Lights?
LED Holiday lights consume a lot less electricity than normal incandescent lights do, they dont get nearly as hot, have a longer life, and are much more durable. So this means, you will save on your electric bill if you switch to LED lights, you dont have to worry about them over heating and becoming a fire hazard, you dont have to worry about replacing them as often because their life is 50k hours compared to 2k hours of incandescent, and they are less likely to break. So, when you look at the pros and cons of each, it makes perfect sense that everyone should switch. The world is constantly changing and new technology is allowing it to be a better place, so why not start this christmas with LED Christmas lights?
