Faster Load Times With WidgetBucks
Oct 25th, 2007 by Nick
I just got an email from WidgetBucks a few minutes ago. At first when I saw the Sender I was nervous that they would be dropping me from the program. I have been making some good revenue from them and I was afraid they were going to be dropping me. But no, it was just a message saying that they have altered the widgets to make them load faster. The only problem is that you have to recopy and repaste the code everywhere you have it if you want it to speed up. This might now be a problem if I had 1 or 2 sites running WB, but I probably have to paste it in about 30 different spots. But, I guess if it speeds it up it will be worth it…
My widgets have been doing pretty well. I am up to around $100 on the month, I had a few clicks that were pretty high, they must have converted for them to be so much. I had one day where I got $1.12 per click from one of my widgets. I think the following day it gave me $0.89 My CTR is in the 1-2 % range on my widgets, which I guess is par for the course since I am not really running any niche sites specifically for those widgets. And the biggest news I think is my referrals. About a week or two ago I only had 3, now Im up to 17! That is hardly any compared to some people though. I think Zac Johnson is over 70 and Jim Karter is well over 100. But, I dont get as much traffic as them and I havnt been pushing referrals, I made a post about getting a free link and a review but no one has even emailed me except for 1 guy…that reminds me I need to write a review.
If the slow load time was keeping you away from widgetbucks, they have improved upon that, so if you are still thinking of joining do so. $25 free and I will throw in a link and a review.
Widgetbucks was banned from Google..that is why they are changing their code.
As soon as I finished writing about the updates I checked my mailbox and I got a feed from John Chow saying that they had been banned. Then I started to think..”did they really make it faster or are they just getting rid of the links in it” and to tell the truth, I dont see a difference in speed.
We just started to use WidgetBucks at our site.
Hope to have good ravenue.
