Another Loss for USC, What About Flag Football?
Nov 4th, 2007 by Nick
USC is starting to turn into a second half team. They scored 21 in a row to tie the game against Tennessee last week and then kicked a field goal to take the lead. Unfortunately, so did Tennessee, and then in overtime we were unable to make it through the uprights again. Last night Arkansas ran all over them, but somehow we clawed back to within 5 points with plenty of time left in the fourth. When we had to kick it away with 4 min left in the fourth and we were still down I decided to call it a game for me, and just went on a 4 hour Office marathon binge. I guess I cant be too mad about them being a second half team. At least that means we have some sort of offensive production during the game. Earlier in the season it seemed like it was just our defense doing the job. I think our defense outscored our offense in the Kentucky game… But this is 3 losses in a row to USC, the most recent against a not so great Arkansas team that is near the bottom of the SEC. With only one more SEC game left, Florida, it does not look good. And then after them we have the in state rivals Clemson. So, USC could very well lose 5 in a row and end 6-6 after starting 6-1.
But more importantly, how did MY flag football game go? It was, our 5 best players against 3 of their best players. One of which was hurt, and then they also had a girl on their team. So, we had 1 sub and they had none. We won by a whopping 2 points. Our field goals were the reason we won. We made about 5 and they only made 3. For our games we play 4 v 4 in a basketball gym with tall ceilings. After you score a touchdown you shoot the football from the freethrow line. So, now we advance to round 2 of the playoffs. To another team that we have already lost to.
